Cuba aim for fourth victory in World Cup

 

Head-to-head
· This will be the 12th meeting between Cuba and Korea Republic at the World Cup. Cuba have won eight of the previous 11 meetings, including the last seven.
· The last meeting between the nations was at the 2012 World Grand Prix with Cuba winning 3-2.
· The last time Korea Republic defeated Cuba was at the 2011 World Grand Prix (3-2).
· Both nations won one meeting with each other at the Olympic Games. Cuba have won six of the seven meetings at the World Championship. 

Cuba
· Cuba defeated Peru 3-1 on Saturday, their third victory this World Cup campaign.
· They can win back-to-back World Cup matches for the first time since winning their last match in 2007 and their first in 2015 (did not participate in 2011).
· Their last 15 World Cup matches have either finished in 3-0 or 3-1. Their last five setter dates back from 9 November 2007, when they defeated Korea Republic 3-2.

Korea Republic
· Korea Republic beat Argentina 3-0 on Saturday and have now won their last three World Cup matches. They can win four in a row for the first time since 1973-1977 when they won five in a row.
· It was Korea's fourth straight set victory this season. The last time they won more matches by a 3-0 score line was in 1999, six.
· Their last 11 World Cup matches have either finished in 3-0 or 3-1. Their last five setter dates back from 17 November 2011 when they lost 3-2 against Dominican Republic.
