Argentine coach Orduna: We overcame some tough situations

Post-match press conference for Argentina and Peru in the third round of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup at the Park Komaki Arena on Friday

Komaki, Japan, September 4, 2015 – Argentina came back to edge Peru 3-2 (16-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 15-12) in the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup at Park Arena Komaki on Friday.

Argentina coach Guillermo Orduna: "I’m very happy because it was a very good, close match. We had to overcome some tough situations, but I was able to use many players and they all played well. Sometimes we lacked concentration and made errors, so we must review that and see what we need to work on. We’ve played Peru many times and know what a strong team they are, but my team showed very strong mentality today."

Argentina captain Emilice Sosa: "I want to thank Peru for making such a great match. It’s always hard when we play them. We had trouble dealing with their serve but we fought to overcome it. It’s a strong South American rivalry and it was a very good match."

Peru coach Mauro Marasciulo: "Congratulations to Argentina. We played well and it was a great match. We are missing two attackers who aren’t here because they are preparing for a U20 tournament, so that makes it more difficult for us. But the younger players are performing well; they only made four errors on 30 serves and that tells me we are going in the right direction."

Peru captain Mirtha Uribe: "Congratulations to Argentina. Both teams fought really hard. Unfortunately, we didn’t do well on our service-reception and couldn’t win. But we competed fiercely and with strong emotions. They are strong rivals for us and always seem to end 3-2."
