Korea overwhelm Peru for first win

Matsumoto, Japan, August 23, 2015 – Korea took advantage of their strong blocking Sunday afternoon to record their first win at the 2015 FIVB Women's World Cup.Bouncing back from a 3-0 opening loss to the United States on Saturday, Korea improved to 1-1 with the 25-19, 25-18 and 25-18 victory over Peru, who slipped to 1-1.It was Korea’s fourth straight win over Peru in the FIVB women’s World Cup and the Asian team now has a 6-3 head-to-head record against Peru in World Cup events.Yang Hyo-jin led Korean scorers with 14 and Lee Jaeyeong and Kim Yeon-koung added 12 and 8 points respectively. Korea had a strong block game, producing 16 stuffs, compared with 0 for Peru.
