We're trying to adjust and improve: Lang

Matsumoto, Japan, August 27, 2015 – China overcame Peru 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-17) on the fifth day of action in the FIVB Women’s World Cup at Matsumoto City Gymnasium on Thursday.

China coach Lang Ping: Every game is a very important game for us and it’s important that we show what we’ve practiced. During the tournament, we want to keep improving so we can play better. For every match, we have a different objective and each player should be at their best for each game; that’s important. So far, our speed is improving, but it’s difficult to say our condition is 100 per cent. We’ve had five difficult matches in Matsumoto because of the problems we had before we came here, so in these five matches we’ve tried to make an adjustment. But we’re not able to maintain a stable game as the young players don’t have enough experience. It’s a learning process and I hope that by getting experience the condition of the team will improve.

(Re. Zhu Ting’s injury): It’s difficult to answer as I’m not a doctor. The ability of a player to recover varies. It’s not serious but I want to keep observing her condition.

China captain Zeng Chunlei: We are happy to win 3-0 but Peru played well. We want to improve our weak points and keep playing our game.

China No. 19 Liu Yanhan: I’m happy to win. I think our combinations went well but Peru did well in attack and in blocking, so I think we can learn something from this. Today Zhu Ting didn’t take part but I don’t think the impact was so great because we have many different players in our team and we just have to play our game.

Peru coach Mauro Marasciulo: China were different from Serbia or USA because they used their starting members for our match. I think our team played well considering this and there were some close moments. We’re missing our two main attackers so we weren’t able to launch as many attacks as usual, but I hope we’ll be able to improve our attacking. In the second round of matches we will have to play strong teams such as Russia and Japan, so we need to focus on the third round against Cuba, Argentina and Kenya.

Peru captain Mirtha Uribe: We played a very good game. China used quick plays and combinations and were very strong. And their block was good, so it was difficult for us. But we had our chances and we are improving. I hope we can keep improving like today.
