It doesn't matter who's across the net: USA coach

Matsumoto, Japan, August 27, 2015 – USA breezed past Algeria 3-0 (25-7, 25-2, 25-5) on the fifth day of action in the FIVB Women’s World Cup at Matsumoto City Gymnasium on Thursday.

USA coach Karch Kiraly: We had some things we focused on getting better at today and I also like the way our team played hard. It doesn’t matter who’s across the net; we honour our opponents, we honour our sport, and we honour our programme and team. I like what we did today.

USA No. 23 Kelsey Robinson: I think our team came into this match with some goals focusing on getting better every time we step on the court and I think we did a really good job of that today, being engaged on every single point and just playing USA volleyball, and bringing our speed and a lot of energy on the court.

Algeria captain Silya Magnana: It’s hard to accept such a lost with only two points in the second set. It was very tough for us to play against players like the USA have. Their players are so tall and their block is so high. I hope we can play better in our next game.

Algeria coach Henni Abdelhalim: I think USA is the best team in this World Cup and our players had no mental strength today. It’s very difficult to play against the top players of USA and in the second set when we only got two points it was mentally tough for our players. We have young players and it’s hard to play 11 matches in such a short time.
