Tokyo, Japan, August 26, 2015 - Russia were determined to get their winning streak going as they made a 3-0 win over Argentina in the first round of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup at the Yoyogi National Stadium on Wednesday.

Russia coach Yuri Marichev: "We prepared very hard for this match. Our goal was to concentrate from beginning to end and we were able to do that. In the past we have had matches where we won the first set and then lost concentration. We are in first place but nothing is certain for us because we have tough matches ahead."

Russia captain Ekaterina Kosianenko: "I'm very happy to win today's match in straight sets. Almost everybody in our team got to play and I'm happy about that."

Russia player Nataliya Obmochaeva: "I'm happy we could win 3-0. From the first point we all concentrated. The condition is good. I feel good mentally and physically. If we continue to play like this we can win the tournament."

Argentina coach Guillermo Orduna: "It's important for Argentina to play against such high-level teams with a history like Russia. This was a challenge for us. We need to concentrate more. We had trouble finding our rhythm. We played better at the third set. It was a good experience for us."

Argentina captain Emilce Sosa: "It was our first time to play against Russia. It was good to play against a strong team and learn what we need to improve on. We have been losing matches and that has been tough. We hope to improve and start winning."
