We are in a strange situation, says Serbia coach Terzic

Komaki, Japan, September 4, 2015 – Serbia overcame Cuba 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-15) in the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup at Park Arena Komaki on Friday.

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic: "It’s difficult to play this kind of game when everyone expects we will win easily. We played with a lot of new players and I must be satisfied, as we won 3-0. Now we are in a little bit of a strange situation because every time we play, we need to think about our game, of course, but one part of our mind is on the other court in Nagoya. So we expect everything will be OK, and at the end of the competition we will qualify for Rio 2016."

Serbia player Stefana Veljkovic: "It was a strange game because it wasn’t our first team. Cuba played really well. It was difficult for us because we didn’t have practice and we were a bit slow, and we had some difficult situations. But it was 3-0 for us and I’m happy with that."

Cuba coach Roberto Garcia: "Congratulations to Serbia on their excellent results in this tournament. One more win and they will qualify for the Olympics, so congratulations. There were some good points about our game but we missed many opportunities on counter-attacks, so in that sense I’m not satisfied with the outcome, but this defeat will still be good preparation for tomorrow’s game."

Cuba captain Sulian Caridad Matienzo Linares: "Serbia played really well, and technically they are excellent, so congratulations to Serbia."
