We're in good shape: Serbia coach Terzic

Matsumoto, Japan, August 24, 2015 – Serbia overcame Peru 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-10) on the third day of the FIVB World Cup at Matsumoto City Gymnasium on Monday.

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic: First, I want to congratulate my team. I remember over the last 10 years we have played Peru many times and every time it was very difficult, usually going to five sets. Today, we played very well. I think we are in good shape and it doesn’t matter if we play with our first six players or some substitutes, we played well and I’m really happy and satisfied how we played today. We played well in all elements.

Serbia No. 11 Stefana Veljkovic: We expected this result and we played very well in the game.

Peru coach Mauro Marasciulo: Compared with Serbia, we don’t have such good players and we don’t have tall players, so it’s difficult to play against them. Unfortunately, we were not able to accomplish simple things. The players were not in a very good position due to reception and that was unfortunate. But I hope that through this game the players will be able to do their best and try hard even when the opponents are strong.

Peru captain Mirtha Uribe: Congratulations to Serbia. For us, this tournament is a very good opportunity to get experience. We knew Serbia were very strong, but I think we could have done better. Our next match is against USA and we now need to focus on that.
