China trounce winless Kenya 3-0

Okayama, Japan, August 31, 2005 – Asian champions China trounced African champions Kenya 3-0 in a second round match of the 2015 FIVB Women’s World Cup at the Momotaro Arena Monday evening.

The Chinese recorded their fourth straight win 25-7, 25-15 and 25-14 following a 3-0 defeat to the United States last Monday and improved to a 6-1 overall win-loss record at the 12-team round robin tournament.

Liu Xiaotong received the Most Impressive Player award after having 11 kills, one block and an ace for China. Yang Junjing also scored 13 points and Zhang Changning added 12. The Chinese women produced nine aces, compared with four for Kenya.

The title contention was wide open as world champions the United States, Russia and Serbia also shared a 6-1 record after Day Seven’s action in this World Cup.
