We are trying to qualify for the Olympics, so I try to make use of all 14 of our players in this tournament."

Japan captain Saori Kimura: "We played with our young players tonight. We are improving game by game, and I'm glad we won."

Japan player Mami Uchiseto: "We used a different team today. We lost in five sets yesterday, so I'm glad we won today. I'm glad I could play the entire match."

Japan player Haruka Miyashita: "I could not relax at the start but then I started to play better after."

Cuba coach Roberto Garcia: "We need to learn how to receive against a team like Japan. They are good at serves. We knew this would be a tough game, but we had a chance to test our tactics for the coming matches."
