USA wrap up World Cup play with rout of Dominican Republic

Nagoya, Japan, September 6, 2005 – World champions the United States wrapped up their play at the 2015 FIVB Women’s World Cup with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-17) rout of Dominican Republic at the Nippongaishi Hall Sunday afternoon.

Nicole Fawcett scored 15 points and Tetori Dixon and Jordan Larson-Burbach added 12 and 11 respectively as the United States finished the tournament with nine wins and two losses. The American women produced eight aces, compared with two for Dominican Republic.

Yonkaira Paola Pena Isabel was the top scorer of Dominican Republic with 12 points with Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez adding seven.

Dominican Republic, whose previous best result at the World Cup was an eighth in 2011, finished with five wins against six losses in the 12-team round robin tournament.
