Matsumoto, Japan, August 22, 2015 - Reigning world champions the United States got off to a winning start at the 2015 FIVB Women's World Cup as they swept Korea 3-0 here Saturday afternoon.Foluke Akinradewo, Kimberly Hill and Karsta Lowe scored 15, 13 and 12 points respectively to lead the American women to the 25-15, 25-22 and 25-15 victory while Korea were led by Kim Hee-jin with 11 points.Aiming to win their first World Cup title, the United States displayed their superiority by producing 10 aces, compared with one for Korea.Korea managed to build up a 13-9 lead in the second set, but the USA team gradually pulled it back at 18-all and went on to seal the set through a spike of Hill.
