Tokyo, Japan, August 23, 2015 - Dominican Republic recorded their first win on the second day of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup with a 3-0 triumph over Kenya at the Yoyogi National Stadium on Sunday.

Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek: "I'm happy we won. These three points are very important. This is a tough tournament playing against different teams every day. Kenya has some very good players."

Dominican Republic captain Prisilla Rivera: "We made too many errors and lacked concentration at times. It was good we could win, but I'm not satisfied."

Kenya coach David Lungaho: "It was a good performance by the Dominican Republic. We wanted to win and we must improve. My players fought well and showed charaacter in the first two sets, but we lost spirit after the second set. We lack the experience at closing out matches at this level. We hope to overcome this with time.

Kenya captain Brackcides Khadambi: "It was a good match. We fought hard despite the loss. We will keep improving and in the coming matches and we will win."
