USA aim to keep win-streak over Argentina

 

Head-to-head
· United States have won all previous three World Cup meetings with Argentina without dropping a set (1999, 2003, 2011).
· Argentina are eyeing their first set win against United States in any major international tournament, as they also recorded straight set defeats in the World Grand Prix (2012) and world championships (1990, 2002).
· In 2011, Argentina recorded their first ever World Cup win over a team representing NORCECA, as they beat Dominican Republic 3-1.

Argentina
· Argentina have won two matches in a row for the first time at the World Cup, both in straight sets. They can make it three by upsetting USA.
· Argentina have won three matches in Japan and one more would be the most for them at a single World Cup after three wins in 2011.
· Lucia Fresco was top scorer for Argentina against Algeria (3-0) with 13 points. It was the first time this tournament she scored most points.

United States
· USA have won four in a row and they can make it five consecutive wins by defeating Argentina. They last won five in a row at the 2011 World Cup in a run that started with a 3-0 win against the Argentineans.
· USA's record of W5-L1 keeps them in in reach of Russia who still boost a perfect W6-L0 record. 
· The win against Kenya (3-0) was USA's 54th at the World Cup, one more than Brazil in fourth place of the all-time ranking.
· Nicole Fawcett and Megan Easy each scored 13 points from spikes against Kenya (3-0). Fawcett from 25 attempts and Easy from 17.
