Korea seek repeat of 2011 win on Algeria

· These nations will meet for the second time in the World Cup. In 2011, Korea Republic defeated Algeria in straight sets.
· Korea Republic have a perfect record against CAVB opponents at the World Cup, with eight wins in all eight matches and not losing a single set.

Algeria
· Algeria are off to an 0-2 start at this World Cup, losing in straight sets to Peru (Saturday) and China (Sunday).
· Algeria have lost nine of their last 10 WC matches in straight sets, including each of their last five. The exception in this run is a 3-1 victory against Kenya in 2011.
· Against China, eight Algeria players posted points, but none of them recorded more than three.

Korea Republic
· On Sunday, Korea Republic rebounded from a straight sets opening round defeat against the United States, blanking Peru.
· The Koreans have now alternated wins and defeats in their last six matches at the World Cup. They are hoping to secure back-to-back WC victories for the first time since 2007.
· Three of Korea's players reached double figures in the win against Peru, with Yang Hyo-Jin leading the way on 14 points (nine spikes, five kill blocks).
